You will focus on addressing incidents of anti-social behaviour, alcohol and drug related offences, weapon offences and property damage. During our 12-week training course you will be taught about the role of a PSO, including relevant legislation, policy and procedures, crime scene and evidence gathering. You will also be taught the same firearms and defensive tactics training as police members. Your salary will start at $49,556 the day you commence your training and progression will be based on a yearly performance assessment with the potential for you to increase your salary. Some work hours attract shift allowances that would be on top of your base salary.
